Congratulations On Taking The Step To Becoming An X & Y Communications Affiliate Partner. Let's Get The Ball Rolling...   IMPORTANT:   If you already have an account with Plimus, skip directly to step #6 below.   1)   Follow the straight-forward instructions on the account sign-up form, taking special note of the username you select as it will be important to remember. You'll also want to specify an e-mail address that you are able to check easily and regularly. Also be sure to read the Plimus Terms Of Use carefully, although you'll find it to be pretty much the standard stuff. It will open in a separate window when you click the text link to it near the bottom of the page. Note that the document covers terms and conditions for both affiliates and product vendors, so pay particular attention to what is relevant to you as a new affiliate. When finished, click the big blue "Create My Account" button.   2)   Congratulations! Your account will have been officially created when you see this screen, as per the message highlighted in green near the top of the page: Below the welcome message, you'll also see a note informing you that an e-mail has been sent to the address you specified. IMPORTANT:   That e-mail will contain a link that you must click in order to verify your account. Although the page you are on looks just like your actual Plimus account's Control Panel will, hold off on exploring the cool links by the green bullets under the "Getting Started" section for now. We promise you'll get to play with them soon. But it's indeed ultra-important to move to the next step before we get to that.   3)   Check your email as directed for that verification message from Plimus. The subject line will be "New Plimus Account - Email Verification". When you click on the verification link, you'll be directed to the Plimus website and shown a screen confirming your account's creation. Click the "Continue To Plimus Control Panel" link on that page to proceed, as shown above.   4)   Once you have reached your real, live Control Panel, note again the "Getting Started" section at the bottom of the page. We recommend going through the bulleted items in reverse order. As such, be sure to click first on the bulleted link #3, which will allow you to choose how Plimus pays you. Note Plimus can actually pay you by check, wire transfer, Paypal or even direct deposit. You can also get a pre-loaded Visa card if you prefer, which is a unique option for sure. No matter what, expect to get paid around the middle of the month for the previous month's commissions, without holdback. Nice. You won't need to bother with bulleted link #2 for now, as that points to a tutorial for product vendors on how to set up order pages (like this one, for example). It's bulleted link #1 where all the action is, though. That's where you're going to get started making money today. Go ahead and click the "Get sales links" link.   5)   Under the "Keywords" field on the ensuing page, which is the Plimus Product Catalog, type exactly this:  "Y Communications". Then click "Search". IMPORTANT:   You must enter the following exactly as shown:   "Y Communications" ...or else the proper list of products will not come up in the results. Plimus' search system does not currently support the "&" character.   6)   Alternatively, rather than performing a manual search for X & Y Communications products, you can simply log in with your new Plimus user ID and password at our custom-coded affiliate invitation page, as shown below. Then simply click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page.   7)   At that point, your request for approval to sell X & Y Communications products and services will likely be approved automatically. If for some reason it isn't, we'll be notified of your interest in becoming an affiliate. We'll approve you for "All Contracts", at which point you'll be sent an email with a massive number of links in it for sure. After all, we've got a massive amount of products and you'll be given links for each. The good news is that all X & Y Communications products will also now magically appear in your main dashboard when you log in. This is by far the easiest way to sort thorugh the various products and get the exact promotional links you need. IMPORTANT:   If you are interested in promoting one particular product and were directed to this affiliate signup page from that product's page (e.g. Unchained Office, Internet Business Made Easy, Twiduction), simply perform a "find" for an appropriate key word in the e-mail you receive. That will allow you to easily find the correct link to use.   8)   Almost invariably, you'll want to use the links of the "Product Website" type found in that welcome e-mail and/or your web-based Plimus dashboard as your affiliate links (e.g. the ones with the word "redirect" in the URL). Feel free to immediately start cutting/pasting them exactly as shown into websites, blogs, Twitter messages, etc. Note that "BuyNow" links, while logically named, would direct customers to the order page if used. This doesn't convert nearly as well as using the "Product Website" links, which point to the proper sales pages for each respective product. Note also that we typically reserve the links marked "Download" for special promotional purposes, which we'll notify you about if and when relevant.   9)   You'll find a particular set of links in your welcome email called "Default Affiliate Link To X & Y Communications Portal". Use the "Product Website" one to direct your customers to our main web site, should you prefer not to promote any single product in particular. Remember, you always get paid on any product purchased by any referred customer for a full year.   10)   Note also that despite having been mailed your "Affiliate ID" number under separate cover by Plimus when you signed up, it's the alphanumeric username as shown in the affiliate links mailed to you that should be used to personalize your affiliate links. This is the username that you chose when signing up. IMPORTANT:   Be sure to never substitute your Affiliate ID number for your username in your affiliate links.   11)   Should you require any assistance whatsoever in deciding which products to promote and how to promote them, be sure to check out our main affiliate resource page for links to all the tools you need.
